1 Last D.C. Baltimore area workshop - Reclaim Your Core is moving!

In some ways I cannot imagine living anywhere else! I have loved living in Maryland.  Did I ever think I would live here? No. Do I love every minute of it? Yes. I cannot explain the amazing neighbors I have, all of the members of my church who help and support me and live within walking distance! I can't say enough about all of the beautiful rolling hills and old farms and trees where we live.  I have met so many wonderful people.  I have worked with so many amazing mothers, so willing to give so much of their-selves to have children and raise, nurture and love them.  If I can help them put a piece of the puzzle together for them by teaching them to use their inner abdominals and regain core strength, flattening there tummies again and relieve some back pain, perhaps help their digestive issues and help them re-connect with their core, then I am extremely happy. I want to make those who have given so much of their selves to have children more whole again.  I would be ungrateful to my Savior if I did not thank him for the opportunity to do what I love for a living. Why am I so reflective?? Did I mention we are MOVING!!!
Our East Coast chapter is coming to a close. We are moving to our roots in the midwest, St Louis area.

As a result, I have to combine my Baltimore and Chantilly  May workshops with my Columbia, MD one.

Pictures Speak!

Twins momma day 1

Same twins momma after 6 weeks!

This twins momma was having a rough time re-identifying with her VERY different  body after having twins.
She made big progress over the course of 6 weeks of Tupler Excercises, holding off on most other forms of exercise and with the help of wearing a diastasis rehab splint.

Today's Before and After pics!

I hope to post more before and after pics so all of you can see the progress real people are making in my classes and with private training. Hmmm, maybe when I get much more efficient with my tablet I can make that happen!

Here is a client i saw today.  She has an adorable 16 month old.    This her change after two weeks!!! Rockin! She told me she didn't quite do all the exercises she was supposed to because she had a CRAZY two weeks.

She went from a 3 fingerwidth deep diastasis on top to .5 fingerwidths and shallow.  In the. Middle she went from 5.5 -6 very deep , to 2.5 deep, and on bottom she went from 2 deep to .5 shallow.  She came in at least two inches on top and 1 in the middle and 1 on bottom!

She said her husband has noticed and change and does not understand how things could change like that in two weeks

, her co-workers and even her ex-boyfriend's parents who she randomly bumped into at a restaurant noticed!  She is quite emotional and excited there is already a change for the better as this has affected many aspects of her life.

How do I know if my diastasis is closed?

Closing the gap, is all about bringing the two halves of the rectus abdominal muscles together through exercise ( the elevators and contracting) done with the transverse brought all the way back towards the spine. You can bring the muscles even closer together by splinting. Doing the exercises 3 times a day will help ensure you are continually bringing your muscles closer together and bringing blood flow to the area.  Wearing the splint to approximate the muscles, making them easier to strengthen and will help take pressure off of the stretched out connective tissue ( the linea alba) so that it can heal.

As your gap heals, the connective tissue separation will feel shallower when you put your fingers in the gap to measure. As the connective tissue becomes shallower, the muscles will come closer together.
Your diastasis is closed when the connective tissue at the belly button is shallow and the two muscle bellies are close together, maybe a finger width.  By clinical definition one to two fingerwidths and shallow is not significant, but I find my clients with two fingerwidths can still greatly benefit in both waistline and strength by bringing it closer together.
